My client had a junky desk that they wanted to be repurposed into something but they weren’t sure what.
As we talked through things, we decided that I could convert it into a couple of end tables for their living room. I first met with them at their rental but they were moving into their own home in a month or two.
I took apart the desk and ended up using the top to create tops for the two end tables I was creating. I took off the trim on the front and the back and reused it for the trim around the top.
I sanded down everything well and painted it with diluted white paint, and then coated it in matte polyurethane.
The clients loved the treatment and it fit well with their new living room. And they were excited about creating something of beauty that would keep a junky piece of furniture out of the landfill.
